The Greens believe that electoral systems should be fair and inclusive. Appropriate decision-making is one of the four guiding principles of the Green Party. First past the post elections disenfranchise large parts of the population and lead to election winners that a minority of the people voted for.

Will Nats support Feds’ rural feudalism

The Green Party is calling on National to make clear whether they support or oppose proposals from Federated Farmers to set up a rural gerrymander at local government level as proposed today in the Feds’ Manifesto.
